Visa Requirements for Mexico and Czech Republic

On July 14th, 2009, Canada has imposed new visa requirements on citizens of Mexico and the Czech Republic. All citizens of these countries will now require to make an application for a visa prior to entering Canada. Until July 16th, 2009, applications can be made at the port of entry. After this date, citizens of Mexico must make their applications for visas at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City, and citizens of the Czech Republic must make their applications through the Canadian Embassy in Vienna, Austria.

These new requirements have been put into place in order to curb what the government of Canada believes are fraudulent refugee claims.
